Review: Are You There God? It's Me Margaret by Judy Blume

Here is a summary of what the book is about: Margaret Simon, almost twelve, has just moved from New York City to the suburbs, and she's anxious to fit in with her new friends.

When she's  asked to join a secret club she jumps at the chance. But when the girls start talking about boys, bras, and getting their first periods, Margaret starts to wonder if she's normal.

There are some things about growing up that are hard for her to talk about, even with her friends. Lucky for Margaret, she's got someone else to confide in... someone who always listens.

This is my first time reading anything by Judy Blume. I have to say I believe I will read more books by her.

I absolutely loved this book. It is a great reminder that we have one really good friend who we can always talk to and that is God. He will never leave us and he will always listen.

This book reminded me of all of the things we all went through when we were Margaret age.

I found this book to be funny at times.

I would recommend this book for any age.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Review: Midnight Sun by Trish Cook

Here is a summary of what the book is about: Seventeen-year-old Katie Price has a rare disease that makes exposure to even the smallest amount of sunlight deadly. Confined to her house during the day, her company is limited to her widowed father and her best (okay, only) friend.  It isn't until after nightfall that Katie's world opens up, when she takes her guitar to the local train station and plays for the people coming and going.

Charlie Reed is a former all-star athlete at a crossroads in his life- and the boy Katie has secretly admired from afar for years. When he happens upon her playing guitar one night, fate intervenes and the two embark on a star-crossed romance.

As they challenge each other to chase their dreams and fall for each other under the summer night sky, Katie and Charlie form a bond strong enough to change them-and everyone around them- forever.

Wow what an amazing story. Better have the tissues ready it is a tear jerker.

I found this book to be predictable that's because I saw the movie. I learned my lesson and that is not to watch the movie while you are reading the book because you already know what's going to happen.

I thought the author did a wonderful job writing this book.

By the way XP is a real disease but it is a rare one.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Review: Frientimacy: How to Deepen Friendships for Lifelong Health and Happiness by Shasta Nelson

Here is a summary of what the book is about. With the constant connectivity of today's world, it's never been easier to meet people and make new friends-but it's never been harder to form meaningful friendships.

In Frientimacy award-winning speaker Shasta Nelson shows how anyone can form stronger, more meaningful friendships, marked by a level of trust she calls "frientimacy." Shasta explores the ten most common complaints and conflicts facing female friendships today, and lays out strategies for overcoming these pitfalls to create deeper, supportive relationships that last for the long-term.

In Frientimacy, she teaches readers to reject the impulse to pull away from friendships that aren't instantly and constantly gratifying. With a warm, engaging, and inspiring voice, she shows how friendships built on dedication and commitment can lead to enriched relationships, stronger and more meaningful ties, and an overall increase in mental health.

The Intimacy Gap is more than just a call for deeper connection between friends; it's a roadmap for moving from friendship to frientimacy-and the meaningful and satisfying relationships that come with it.

I found this book to be very informative.

If you want to have a deeper connection with your friends you should read this book. I would recommend it.

Looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Review: Emmy & Oliver by Robin Benway

Here is a summary of what the book is about.  Emmy and Oliver were going to be best friends forever, or maybe even more, before their futures were ripped apart.  In Emmy's soul, despite the space and time between them, their connection has never been severed. But is their story still written in the stars? Or are their hearts like the pieces of two different puzzles- impossible to fit together?

Emmy just wants to be in charge of her own life.... She wants to stay out late, surf her favorite beach- go anywhere without her parents' relentless worrying. But Emmy's parents can't seem to let  her grow up- not since the day Oliver disappeared.

Oliver needs a moment to figure out his heart.... He'd thought, all these years, that  his dad was a good guy. He never knew that it was his father who had kidnapped him and kept him on the run.

Discovering it, and finding himself returned to his old hometown, all at once, has his heart racing, and his thoughts swirling.

Readers will devour theses pages with hearts in throats as Emmy and Oliver struggle to face the messy, confusing consequences of Oliver's father's crime. Full of romance, coming-of-age emotion, and heartache, these two equally compelling characters create an unforgettable  story.

Wow  what an amazing story. I thought it was written very well.

I found this book to be a real page turner. It was cute and sweet. I couldn't put it down.

My husband bought this book for me as a gift and I fell in love with the cover.

I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

Happy Reading Everyone!
