Review: What Happens in France by Carol Wyer

Here is a summary of what the book is about. She stood and took her place in front of the camera... It was now or never" Bryony Masters has been looking for her long- lost sister, Hannah, for years, but when their father has a stroke her search takes on  new urgency. So when primetime game show, What Happens in France, puts a call- out for new contestants, Bryony spots the ultimate public platform to find her reality TV - obsessed sister, and finally reunite their family.

With the help of handsome Lewis, it's not long before she's on a private jet heading for  the stunning beauty of rural France. With a social media star dog, a high maintenance quiz host and a cast of truly unique characters, Bryony and Lewis have their work cut out for them to stay on the show and in the public eye.

Yet as the audience grows and the grand prize beckons they find that the search that brought them together may just fulfil more than one heart's wish...

Here is my honest opinion about this book. I thought it was a cute story. I enjoyed reading it. I thought it was written well. I just love happy endings.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Blog Update

Hey Everyone
I want to apologize for not keeping my blog updated lately. I have been busy with my knitting business. On another note my husband and I are going through something very personal I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t worry it has nothing to do with our marriage we are doing good. We will be going out of town for a while. I will try to do some reading while we are gone but it will be hard because we are going to be busy. I hope everyone is having a good week.

Review: Throne of Grace (Cliff Walk Courtships Book 1) by Cecily Wolfe

Arthur Davenport has it all: looks, money, and a successful future planned by his parents. He knows that something is missing, but when he and Josie, his mother's maid, develop a friendship that can only be based on Christian values, he realizes that his love for her is the key to his happiness. Can he convince her that he would gladly give up his life of luxury for a life of service with her?

Newport Rhode Island in the last decades of the nineteenth century was a stunningly beautiful and glamorous playground for the rich during the summer months, and perfect setting for a romance between a rich young man from New York City and a local girl who works for his family. The two couldn't possibly expect to have anything in common, as he is expected to follow his father in a financial career and she is merely a maid with a mother who takes care of  local children while their parents work.

Arthur Davenport spoiled and bored, unsure  of his place in his family and in the eyes pf God, truly meets his match in Josie Warren, who is often just a nit hard on herself for not being the perfect Christian in thought as well as deed. The two meet on the famous Cliff Walk, and neither of them can imagine where or how their instant attraction will take them as he struggles to make his parents understand that his calling is the same as hers, to help those less fortunate. He has no money of his own, and if they disinherit him out of disapproval, how can he help Josie, who has spent her life working hard to help support herself and her mother?  More importantly, how can he convince her that he would gladly give up his life of luxury just to be with her?

Wow what a truly amazing book. I absolutely loved it. I couldn't put it down. It is so sweet and romantic. I would highly recommend this book. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Review: The Competition by Cecily Wolfe

Here is a summary of what the book is about. For Mary Sofia, The Penultimate writing competition is more than a chance at a free college education; she wants to show her younger siblings that they can all rise above their violent family history. For Raiden, the pressure to succeed comes from within, although he knows that family traditions play a part in his determination.

For Camara, writing fiction is almost compulsive, but her own dark secret maybe the best story she can ever tell. For Michael, swimming and writing fit his introverted personality perfectly, but meeting a smart and beautiful girl at The Penultimate makes stepping outside of his comfort zone easy.

All four will compete against each other along with 96 other high school juniors for the chance of a lifetime: a full scholarship to a prestigious private college. Some students will do anything to win, but others may pay the price.

I thought this book was well written. It was a very interesting story. I found some unexpected twists in this book.

I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Happy Reading Everyone!

Review: The Distance Between Us by Georgie Capron

Here is a summary of what the book is about. Tasha knows that she should count her blessings: married for eleven years, mother to three healthy children, she should be content with her lot. However, feelings of frustration have  settled over her like a dark cloud.

Despite living under the same roof and sharing the same bed, Tasha has never felt so distant from her husband, Charlie. She feels worn down by the mental load of motherhood, drowning in the never-ending chores that keep the family and household afloat. Most of all she worries that her once happy marriage is slipping away from her.

Tasha longs for something to change, but when change comes calling will it really be the answer she was hoping for? And is it possible to fall in love with the same person twice?

A modern day love story about family, marriage and risking it all to have it all.

I found this book to be very insightful. It deals with issues that could really happen in marriages.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was very well written. The author did a good job.

I am looking forward to reading more books by the author.

Happy Reading Everyone!
